1. A lovely sunny day in Lima.

2. Peru has fantastic seafood. Eileen dives into a chupe de mariscos.

3. Helen, Di and Betty enjoy a stroll through colonial Lima.

4. A colourful cormorant perching on top of a rock at the Ballestas Islands.

5. Our morning boat ride to the Ballestas provided a marine life extravaganza.

6. This sea lion posed luxuriosly for his photo.

7. Our stop at a vineyard in Ica revealed these traditional urns for storing pisco, the national alcohol.
|

8. Gavin, Sue, John. Betty, Eileen, Helen, Beverley & Jean enjoy the vast dunes at Huacachina Oasis.

9. An intrepid bunch led the charge with the sandboarding.

10. The dune buggies were a lot of fun and great for getting the adrenaline pumping.
|

11. Two mummies shooting the breeze at the Chauchilla cemetery, near Nazca.

12. The hummingbird, one of many detailed designs, left on the desert floor, by the Nazca civilization.

13. We had a fascinating tour of the Santa Catalina Convent in Arequipa.

14. The volcano Misti is readily visible from most parts of Arequipa.

15. The tour of the local market in Arequipa is always a fascinating experience. Fish for dinner anyone?

16. We visited a community library in Corporaque and enjoyed interacting with the local children as well as delivering some stationery to help them with their studies. |

17. We encountered this little cutie at the community daycare centre.

18. The condors put on a wonderful display for us out at the Colca Canyon.

19. We encountered the locals of Yanque doing traditional dancing at 6'oclock in the morning!!!

20. Betty befriends a lady from Maca and her two pets.

21. Maria tries to resist Mancha's advances but those llamas can be pretty insistent.

22. Some daring group members went rafting on the Chili River near Arequipa. Here we see Helen, Gavin and John perch on the edge of a rapid.

23. Beverley, Evelyn and Sue admire the potatoes drying near Cusco. Peru is the potato capital of the world with hundreds of tasty varieties.

24. Our hike near Cusco culminated at the Sacsayhuaman ruins, home to the epic Inti Raymi festival.
|

25. Beverley is dwarfed by the immense size of the Sacsayhuaman structures.

27. The first day of the trail winds up a river valley through farmland and is usually warm.

33. It's not a walk in the park but the beautiful scenery of the Andes makes it all worthwhile and the sense of achievement is beyond measure.

51. These kind folk from Anapia Island made us a wonderful lunch and had us to stay, which was truly a magical experience.

53. La Paz is delightfully chaotic and hilly. Also a shopper's paradise for those last minute souvenirs.
